Government

As the only incorporated town and the seat of Warren County, Front Royal is home to both Town and County government offices. Front Royal is governed by a Mayor, Town Manager and Town Council. The Mayor is elected for a two-year term and the Council members are elected for four-year terms, meeting the second and fourth Mondays of each month in a formal session, with work sessions scheduled on an as-needed basis. Citizens are encouraged to attend Council meetings and to become involved in local government by serving on one of the many boards or commissions in the Town.

Front Royal also has several departments to meet the needs of the residents. With 175 full- and part-time employees, as well as a number of seasonal staff, the Front Royal government is well-equipped to provide excellent service.

Warren County government business is conducted by a County Administrator and Board of Supervisors. The county has several departments overseeing the needs of the residents of Warren County. While some departments handle only county business, others, like the Fire and Rescue Department, work with the Front Royal town government to provide a greater range of services.
