behalf of the citizens of Roane County, I am pleased to welcome you.
Roane County’s central location near the Great Smoky Mountains
and several major metropolitan areas affords its citizens a small-town
way of life with easy access to many diverse cultural attractions.
Roane County is a community of 53,000. The reasons many people choose
to live in Roane County are its low tax structure and its environmental
beauty, highlighted by the mountains and Watts Bar Lake. Roane has more
miles of lakeshore than any other East Tennessee county.
I invite you to see for yourself! Bring your boat, or rent one from
a local marina and enjoy our water recreation. Golf at one of our area
golf courses. Stay in our excellent hotels, conveniently located near
Interstate 40, or wake up to a lake view in one of our cabins on the
water. Plan a country wedding in a chapel overlooking the lake, and
stay at our AAA-rated four-diamond country inn.
