“A suburban secret, too good to keep” is what many
folks are saying about Cuyahoga Falls. Rich in cultural opportunities
year-round, the “Falls” offers a unique
living experience.
Each spring opens a new season of world-class musical events
at Blossom Music Center and captivating dramatic productions
at the Porthouse Theatre. Both venues are modern outdoor amphitheaters.
Each year, more than 400,000 people enjoy the 50-plus shows
ranging from the most popular national touring bands to regional
favorites. Blossom is the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra.
Pack a picnic and enjoy a beautiful, warm summer night experiencing
music and/or theater.
Summer weekends are filled with sounds of the festive Riverfront.
Riverfront Centre is the site for activities attracting over
300,000 people during the season. Multi-day events include the
Crooked River Fine Arts Festival, Oktoberfest, Irish Festival,
Italian-American Festival, Rib Burn-Off and the weekly Rockin’
on the River. Mixed with the weekend events are the customary
weekday favorites, including the Car Cruise-In, Tuesday Evening
Concerts, and Treats and Tunes on Thursday Afternoons. In 2003,
the Riverfront Centre District will introduce the much-anticipated
Falls River Square. This gathering area will feature a new amphitheater,
a 4,050-square-foot pavilion and a stunning 70-foot-diameter
interactive water fountain.
Experience the spectacular colors of the autumn leaves at any
of Cuyahoga Falls’ 24 parks. Outdoor recreation opportunities
abound in our environmentally conscious community. Cuyahoga
Falls contains 4,807 acres of the 32,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley
National Park. Sculpted by glaciers, streams and the persistent
forces of nature, the Cuyahoga River landscape is an enchanting
diversity of river floodplain, steep and gentle valley walls
forested by deciduous and evergreen woods, and numerous ravines.
Starting in the winter of 2003, Cuyahoga Falls residents will
experience a new seasonal family tradition, the Falls River
Square Ice Skating Rink, which is larger than the rink at Rockefeller
Center!
