Welcome
Welcome to Geneva! The community once known by the Seneca name Kanadesaga is now home to everything from family-owned farms to international corporations. The City of Geneva’s population was estimated at 13,517 in 2003, and the Town of Geneva’s population at the time of the 2000 census was 3,289. The “Lake Trout Capital of the World” is comfortably perched at the northern tip of Seneca Lake, the perfect spot for recreational activities, tourist stops and economic activity.
Geneva was once home to Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman doctor in the United States, who attended college here. Actress Lauren Holly also hails from this small but active community. And even acclaimed author F. Scott Fitzgerald recognized Geneva in his renowned novel, “Tender is the Night.”
Whatever draws you here, we’re sure you’ll enjoy your stay!
