As the governmental seat of Nodaway County, Maryville is the heart and soul of northwest Missouri. The 22,000 residents of Nodaway County, as well as many from outlying areas, depend on Maryville as their primary shopping center, employment and entertainment.

Major employers, such as Energizer, Kawasaki, Laclede, Federal-Mogul, NEBS and LMP Steel and Wire Company, have found Maryville’s central location and high quality work force ideal for their manufacturing requirements.

Maryville is served by two airports, one City-owned, with a lighted 4,000-foot hard-surfaced runway and taxi strip, and one privately owned, with a hard-surfaced and lighted 3,000-foot runway and taxi strip. Both have maintenance and hangar facilities.

More than $1 million in grant assistance has been secured by the City to continually upgrade and maintain its municipally-owned airport.

Commercial flights to anyplace on the planet can be found at Kansas City International Airport, 80 miles to the south off Interstate 29. Greyhound Bus Lines makes regular stops in Maryville.
