Freedom Fest

One of Murray Tourism Commission's primary responsibilities is to oversee Freedom Fest, Murray's biggest festival. Freedom Fest is held every year during Fourth of July week. The community celebrates with a street fair, a country music concert, a parade and a large extravaganza of fireworks. This year marked the 16th year for Freedom Fest, and there is no doubt that Murray residents will continue to see more and more exciting events surrounding the celebration.

"Freedom Fest is Murray's main festival," says Shannon Blalock, Executive Director of the Murray Tourism Commission. It's also Murray's longest-running festival, and since its beginning in 1987, it has grown to include many more activities than just Fourth of July fireworks and a parade. Some of the activities surrounding Freedom Fest include Family Day in the Park, Opening Ceremonies, a country music concert featuring some of the hottest country music stars, a parade, a fireworks show, and much more.

Freedom Fest has grown into an event that Murray residents and tourists expect and anticipate with much excitement.
