Some of us may be middle-aged, some middle-class; nonetheless,
middle around here never implied intermediate. Maybe youll
think of Middletown, America when you hear our name. Thats okay
too, some of that is good. We are a small town with traditional, family-minded
ideals. Our seasoned mix of historic character with innovative inspirations
makes us a quaint and unique place. Just dont let the middle
in our name set an impression
we are average.
Located in north central Kentuckys historic heartland, Middletown
sits inside the greater Louisville metro area. Located twelve miles
east of Louisville on U.S. 60, our name Middletown is thought
to be derived from its halfway mark location between Louisville and
Shelbyville. From the scenic view of the Ohio River to the thrill of
Derby season at Churchill Downs, we are just a short drive to the big
city. The metropolitan area of Louisville is comprised of seven counties:
Jefferson, Oldham and Bullitt counties in Kentucky, and Clark, Floyd,
Harrison and Scott counties in Indiana; all of whose population totals
approximately one million.
If you are planning to relocate, be that family or business, we welcome
you to become a part of our little city with a big city mentality.
And then, even if the middle in our name sets an average
first impression, we know our community will prove itself otherwise.
The Middletown Chamber of Commerce serves the businesses in Middletown
and the Louisville East area. It is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian
organization. It is a membership-based organization whose mission is
to promote, organize and develop the necessary leadership to ensure
the Chamber will be an effective force for economic expansion, stability
and improvement.
The Middletown Chamber of Commerce offers business the strength of a
unified organization, working together toward mutual business and community
goals. Governed by members, with a Board of Directors elected from a
slate of members, the Chamber is your voice in community and government.
Bringing together the ideas, energy, and economic strength of all our
members, the Middletown Chamber of Commerce can accomplish collectively
what no single member can
do individually.
The strength of this organization ultimately lies in the spirit and
vision of its members.
Middletown Chamber of Commerce has enjoyed some very successful years
recently, due to the hard work of member volunteers, the Board of Directors
and the Chamber staff. Working together, we can continue to progress
and improve our businesses, community and our Chamber.
