RMH is proud to offer quality health care services to the people of Olney and Richland County, with its primary service area branching throughout Southeastern Illinois. RMH is a licensed, not-for-profit, 135-bed facility and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. On any given day at RMH, one will find more than 450 health care professionals working toward a common goal - the satisfaction and safety of the patients and families served by the hospital.
A comprehensive array of services are provided by Richland Memorial. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency facilities; its Paramedic Level Ambulance Service is the county's 9-1-1 Emergency Responder. Helicopter access is available to numerous prominent Midwestern trauma centers.
RMH offers a dedicated Obstetrics and Gynecology Wing with Levels I and II Nursery services for newborns. Nursing staff are certified in advanced life support for neonates. They offer numerous educational programs for new and expectant parents.
Extended and Transitional (Skilled) Care Services are provided by Richland Memorial Hospital's Long Term Care Unit. Patients enjoy a comfortable, loving environment with immediate, convenient access to nursing, rehabilitative and ancillary services provided on site.
Rehabilitative services offered by RMH include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language Pathology and Lymphedema Management. RMH also provides a three-phase Cardiac Rehabilitation program for people with heart disease.
RMH is home to a 16-bed inpatient psychiatric center, providing mental health services to adult and geriatric patients.
State-of-the-art surgical services are offered at Richland Memorial in a number of specialty areas, including: General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology and Urology. RMH also offers a dedicated G.I. Lab, which is utilized for a number of gastrointestinal procedures. A Same Day Surgery Nursing Unit is available for short-term stays and patients receiving out-patient chemotherapy.
A comprehensive array of Diagnostic Imaging Services are provided by RMH, which include Bone Densitometry, CT Scans, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Scans, Ultrasound, and X-Ray. In addition, RMH is home to an on-site Laboratory, providing Clinical Pathology and a number of medical testing services.
Home Health and Hospice services are provided throughout 13 Southeastern Illinois counties by the RMH Home Care Services Department.
Additional ancillary health care services provided by RMH include Cardiac and Respiratory Function Studies, Pharmacy Services, Memory Disorder Services, Respiratory Therapy, Social Services, and Patient Education in a number of areas.
Inpatient Nursing Units dedicated to Medical/Surgical Care, Intensive Care and Pediatrics are also offered by RMH.
Richland Memorial Hospital's Medical Staff is among the largest in Southeastern Illinois. Weber Medical Clinic, one of the oldest multi-specialty group practices in the state, contributes to RMH specialists in the areas of Allergy, Dermatology, General Surgery, Hematology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Pulmonary Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, Surgical Oncology, and Urology.
Olney is also home to a number of independent Family Practice and Internal Medicine physicians who contribute to the RMH Medical Staff.
Specialists in the areas of Emergency Medicine, Pathology, Psychiatry and Radiology also practice within the walls of the facility.
Richland Memorial Hospital's Outpatient Medical Clinic provides patients with convenient access to specialists in the areas of Cardiology, Hand Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurology, and Podiatry. Tele-medicine consultations in numerous specialties are also available through the Outpatient Clinic.
In addition to providing quality health care, Richland Memorial Hospital prides itself on being a good neighbor. Throughout the year, RMH sponsors community wellness programs, free health screenings, support groups and continuing educational seminars for the medical community. The facility is also pleased to be a clinical training hub site for Southern Illinois University Physician Assistant students and an educational center for students of nursing, radiography and numerous other health professions. RMH is also the service provider for Fox River Apartments, which provides affordable assisted living for frail, elderly people with low to moderate incomes.

In addition, the staff boasts a certified nurse/midwife and two nurse practitioners.
