Best Green Practices from KC’s Climate Protection Partnership

Earlier this month we had a discussion with Jamie Green at the Greater Kansas City (MO) Chamber of Commerce about their Climate Protection Partnership Program, which has united Chamber members in their efforts to become more environmentally-friendly. As part of the program, members in the partnership get together to share their progress at best practices meetings, and the Chamber has graciously shared some of the information and ideas from their last meeting with us. Here are a few items from Kansas City to think about in our own communities and offices:

“Getting Greener” With A Partnership Program

Realizing that many of you may be starting up or building upon environmental programs as part of your chamber resolutions and goals for 2011, we wanted to share some information about a program in Kansas City, Missouri that might be helpful in shaping your green program plans.
Established just three years ago, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s Climate Protection Partnership (CPP) has successfully united area businesses in the cause of reducing carbon emissions, and the Chamber has shared valuable insights from their program with other environmentally-conscious chambers around the country.
