A Great Story and an Inspiring Veteran

Earlier this year we came upon a unique and inspiring story of a former fighter pilot in Bowling Green, Kentucky who is not only helping to spearhead an important project in his hometown, but has reached out to reconcile with an adversary from many years ago.
The subject of the story is General Dan Cherry, USAF (ret.). An accomplished and decorated pilot who flew 100 combat missions and had one MIG kill during the Vietnam War, Dan Cherry went on to complete an impressive career. His service included time as commander of the Air Force Thunderbirds and as commander of the U.S. Air Force Recruiting Service before his retirement in 1985. (more…)

A Bird’s Eye View from Decorah

While working with the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce on their latest publication, we got the opportunity to produce a number of stories that showcase the natural beauty and point out the sustainability of Iowa’s Winneshiek County. One of the most interesting of those stories was about a pair of unwitting Decorah celebrities that gained tens of thousands of viewers last year for their internet reality show. How does that relate to the natural beauty and environmental consciousness of the community, you ask? Well, it starts to make sense once you understand that these online stars live in a tree. (more…)
